Product Description
Most of what 1000 Stories does is red, which makes this Chardonnay the label’s most quietly ambitious bottle. The same used-bourbon-barrel finish that gives the reds their spice is turned toward a white grape here, adding weight and a faintly smoky sweetness to California Chardonnay without burying its orchard fruit. It is a genuinely different white, and it knows it.
Expect baked apple, ripe pear and lemon curd over vanilla, toasted coconut and a light caramel edge, with a creamy texture and a finish that lingers. Serve it cool rather than cold so the oak notes stay open. Excellent with roast chicken, grilled corn, crab cakes or a wedge of aged gouda.
