Coconut and agave should not work as well together as they do. 1800 was first to prove the point, infusing its Jalisco blue agave tequila with coconut to create a flavored expression that kept the spirit’s character instead of drowning it. Years later it remains the reference bottle in a category it effectively invented.
Soft toasted coconut and vanilla sit over baked agave, with a rounded texture and a clean, unsticky finish. It is pleasant chilled and neat, but it earns its keep in cocktails — a coconut margarita, a pineapple and lime highball, or a simple pour over ice with soda. Bright, easy and unmistakably tropical.
