Cristalino is the newest chapter in tequila, and 1800 helped write it: age the spirit properly in oak, then filter out the color and leave the flavor behind. What survives is an añejo that looks like a blanco and behaves like neither. The 375 is a low-commitment way to find out what the fuss is about.
Clear in the glass, it opens with vanilla and butterscotch, then almond, honey and a soft oak spice over roasted agave, closing clean and warm. Drink it neat and lightly chilled, or over one large cube. It also makes a striking clear cocktail where a dark tequila would muddy the look.
