There is a small trick at the heart of every cristalino: take an añejo that has done its time in oak, then filter the color out and let the flavor stay. 1800 does it at full 750 size here, delivering the roundness of an aged tequila in a spirit as clear as a blanco. It is the bottle that reliably confuses guests, in the best way.
Aromas of vanilla and toasted almond give way to honey, baked agave and a light dusting of oak spice, all carried on a notably silky texture. The finish is warm and clean. Best neat and lightly chilled in a narrow glass, and better at the end of a meal than the start of a mixer.
