Between the sharpness of a blanco and the weight of an añejo sits the reposado, and 1800’s is one of the most widely poured versions of it. The blue agave spirit rests in American and French oak barrels, picking up color, vanilla and a softer disposition while keeping the agave clearly audible. It is the bottle that covers the most ground.
Expect caramel and toasted oak over cooked agave, with a light pepper note and a smooth, warming finish. It works neat over ice with a twist, and it makes a margarita with genuine body. If you keep only one 1800 on the shelf, this is usually the one.
