This is the Chardonnay from the 19 Crimes collaboration with Martha Stewart, a partnership that pairs the brand’s convict-era storytelling with a name synonymous with the well-set table. The 2021 is made in a crowd-pleasing style rather than an austere one, and that is very much the point.
Expect ripe orchard fruit and citrus with a soft, creamy texture and a rounded finish. Pour it well chilled as an aperitif, or bring it to roast chicken, creamy pastas, crab cakes and anything off a cheese board. An approachable white for hosts who would rather pour than explain.
