Product Description
Georgia has been making wine for roughly eight thousand years, longer than anywhere else on earth, and Mukuzani is among its most respected names for dry red. The wine comes from Kakheti, in the east of the country, and is built on Saperavi, a dark skinned grape whose juice runs red rather than clear. Genuinely distinctive, and still underpriced for what it is.
Deep and nearly inky in the glass, with black cherry, plum, dried tobacco and a firm acidic spine. A few years in bottle have softened the tannins. Serve at cool room temperature with grilled lamb, walnut sauces, stews or aged sheep cheese.
