Product Description
Abeja farms in the Walla Walla Valley and makes Chardonnay in the restrained, Burgundian-minded style — barrel-fermented for texture, but never buried in butter and toast. The 2016 has had time to settle in the bottle, and that extra maturity is doing it favors.
Baked apple and lemon curd have picked up a honeyed, faintly nutty depth with age, while the acidity holds everything upright through a long, mineral finish. Pull it from the fridge fifteen minutes before pouring. It shines with roast chicken, scallops, lobster, or a wedge of aged Comte.
