Sin Zin has been Alexander Valley Vineyards’ most recognizable bottle for decades, as much for the label as for what is in it. The half bottle is a genuinely useful format — a proper glass or two for one person, or a way to try the estate’s Zinfandel without opening a full 750.
Brambly blackberry and raspberry lead, with black pepper, a hint of cocoa and the warming ripeness Zinfandel is known for, finishing round and dry. Pour it with barbecue, pulled pork, pepperoni pizza, or grilled sausage. A good bottle to tuck into a picnic basket.
