Cold Duck began as a Midwestern thrift — leftover red combined with sparkling wine rather than wasted — and grew into a holiday fixture across the country. Andre keeps the tradition alive with a dark, sweet sparkler that still turns up on Thanksgiving and New Year tables every year.
The palate is frankly sweet, with grape, dark berry and a soft cola note carried along on brisk bubbles. Chill it hard and serve in small glasses after dinner, alongside pie, chocolate or a cheese board. Drinkers who find brut too austere usually land here happily.
