Product Description
Araujo built its name on the Eisele Vineyard in Calistoga, one of the most closely watched sites in Napa Valley, and Altagracia is the wine that carries that pedigree at a more approachable register. Fruit is drawn from the estate and from neighboring parcels the winemaking team knows intimately, then handled with the same restraint as the flagship.
Cassis and dark plum lead, with graphite, dried herb and a whisper of cedar behind them. Tannins are firm but polished, and the 2012 has settled into a generous, open phase. Decant it an hour before a rib eye or a slow braise, or leave it in the cellar and let time do the rest.
