Atlas Peak climbs above the fog line on the eastern edge of Napa Valley, where thin volcanic soils and cool mountain air produce Cabernet with more tension and darker fruit than the valley floor. Vines struggle here, yields stay low, and the wines carry a structural backbone that flatland sites rarely match.
Blackcurrant, dark plum and crushed rock lead, with cedar, graphite and a savory herbal note behind. Tannins are firm and finely grained. Give it an hour in a decanter and serve it with a charred steak, lamb chops or a hard aged cheese.
