Product Description
The Attems family has been growing wine in Friuli since the eleventh century, which is a long time to spend learning one corner of northeastern Italy. Their Sauvignon Blanc comes from hills near the Slovenian border, where cool air off the Alps meets warmth drifting up from the Adriatic and white grapes hold their acidity while ripening fully.
The style is Italian rather than tropical: white peach, grapefruit pith and elderflower over a stony finish, with none of the aggressive grassiness the grape can show elsewhere. Serve it cold with grilled fish, prosciutto and melon, asparagus, or a plate of fresh goat cheese.
