Product Description
Two woods, one whisky, and a template the rest of the industry copied. DoubleWood 12 spends its first years in American oak for vanilla and structure, then moves into European oak sherry casks for a second maturation that adds fruit, spice and depth. Balvenie's malt master pioneered the practice, and this bottle still explains why it works.
Honey and vanilla arrive first, then sultana, dried apple, cinnamon and a nutty sherry warmth on a long, gently sweet finish. Forty-three percent gives it just enough weight. The ideal everyday single malt: good enough to sip neat, forgiving enough to pour for guests, welcome on nearly every whisky drinker's shelf.
