Product Description
Sweet red gets less respect than it deserves. Done badly it is jam; done well it is one of the friendliest things you can put in a glass, and Barefoot has enough practice with sweet wine to land on the right side of that line. This is a red for people who find dry reds too stern.
The palate is soft and juicy, with ripe black cherry, blackberry and plum, a note of cocoa, and a rounded sweetness carried through a smooth, low-tannin finish. Serve it lightly chilled, about twenty minutes in the fridge. It is very good with barbecue, spicy sausage, dark chocolate and sharp cheese.
