Pinot Grigio is the default white in a great many American refrigerators, and the magnum is an honest acknowledgement of that. Three litres would be excessive; 1.5 is simply two bottles of a wine you were going to buy twice anyway, bought once and at a better rate.
Barefoot makes it in the crisp, unoaked style: green apple, lemon and a touch of white peach, dry and light on the palate with a clean, brisk finish. Serve it thoroughly chilled. It is a good all-purpose white for salads, grilled fish, light pasta, cold shellfish, or a glass on its own before dinner.
