White Zinfandel was a happy accident of California winemaking, a pink wine made from a red grape that went on to outsell almost everything else on the shelf. Barefoot makes a version that keeps the style where it belongs: sweet, pale and easy, with no pretense of being anything more serious.
Strawberry and melon dominate, with a soft sweetness and a clean finish. It should be served genuinely cold, and it takes ice without complaint.
