Product Description
A fortified red made in the port style from Shiraz, sold under a label that clearly does not take itself too seriously. Wines like this occupy a small and rewarding corner of the shelf: sweet, strong, meant for the end of the meal, and usually far less expensive than the Portuguese originals they are modeled on.
Expect a thick, dark pour with blackberry, dried fig, chocolate and a warming lift of spirit on the finish. A small glass is the correct serving, lightly chilled or at cool room temperature. It is very good with dark chocolate, blue cheese and walnuts, and an opened bottle keeps for weeks thanks to the added alcohol.
