Pinot Noir does not usually turn up in a box, which is part of what makes this one interesting. Black Box treats it seriously, aiming for the lighter, brighter side of red wine rather than trying to make it taste bigger than it is. Three liters is the equivalent of four standard bottles.
The profile runs to red cherry, raspberry and a touch of earthy spice, with silky tannins and fresh acidity. Serve it with a light chill alongside salmon, roast chicken, mushroom pasta or a charcuterie board. It is the most food-friendly wine in the range and the easiest to pour for a mixed table.
