Black Dog takes its name from a fishing fly, a small detail that dates the blend to an era when Scotch travelled the world in wooden cases. Triple Gold Reserve is the expression that carries the brand reputation, a blended Scotch assembled from malt and grain whiskies chosen for harmony rather than showmanship. It is a widely admired pour in markets where smoothness is the highest compliment a whisky can earn.

Honey, light orchard fruit and toffee lead, with malt and a soft brush of oak behind them, and the finish is warm and clean with no peat to negotiate. Serve it over a large cube, or long with soda and a twist of lemon. A safe and genuinely pleasant bottle for entertaining, especially with guests who find peat difficult.
