Product Description
The name is literal: thirty-eight barrels, the number the cellar filled and aged for this bottling. Goru comes from Jumilla, the arid inland corner of southeastern Spain where Monastrell has grown for centuries and old vines survive on remarkably little water. Small berries, thick skins, deep color. Spain sends a great deal of good value north to Chicago, and this sits near the top of that list.
Ripe blackberry and black cherry meet toasted oak, dried herb and a dusty mineral close, with tannins that grip just enough. Decant if you have the time. Pour it alongside grilled sausage, manchego, or anything that came off charcoal.
