Bombay Original Dry Gin runs on a recipe the distillery traces back to 1761 and a lineup of eight botanicals, shorter and more traditional than its better known sibling. Juniper leads without apology, which is exactly what a classic London dry is supposed to do. For anyone building cocktails from the canon, it is the more faithful choice.
Piney juniper, coriander seed and citrus peel over a dry, clean finish with a faint earthiness. It makes a properly bracing Martini and a Negroni with real backbone. Gin and tonic drinkers will find it sharper and more assertive than the softer modern styles.
