Product Description
Restraint is the founding principle here: whole cluster fermentation, minimal new oak, and Pinot Noir that tastes of where it grew rather than the barrel it sat in. This Sta. Rita Hills bottling is the Brewer Clifton calling card, drawn from a cold, wind scoured stretch of Santa Barbara County that suits the grape unusually well.
The wine is dark fruited and savoury, with black cherry, cranberry, dried herb and a distinct earthy note held upright by fine tannins and bright acidity. A short chill sharpens the edges. Pair with duck, grilled salmon, mushrooms or roasted beets. Serious Pinot for someone who has stopped buying by the label.
