Few releases have moved as quickly through Chicago as this one. Buchanan's took its blended Scotch base and layered pineapple and citrus over the top, landing on something that plays as well at a summer cookout as it does in a club. At 70 proof it sits noticeably lighter than the standard expression.
Tropical fruit leads, with pineapple and orange sitting over the honeyed, lightly smoky whisky underneath. Serve it very cold, over ice, or lengthened with soda, pineapple juice or ginger ale. It is excellent in a highball with lime. Bring it to a party and the bottle is unlikely to come home with you.
