The Camarena family has been growing agave in the highlands of Jalisco for more than a century, a longer track record than most tequila brands can claim. This anejo is made from blue agave and rested in oak, and it lands at a price that makes aged tequila an everyday option rather than an occasion purchase.
Time in barrel brings out toffee, toasted vanilla and baked agave, with a gentle peppery lift on the finish that keeps it from going flat. Serve it neat or over a single large cube. It is also a fine base for a tequila old fashioned when you want something richer than a margarita.
