Black Diamond is the step up in the Canadian Mist range, a blend given more time and attention than the standard bottling. It stays true to the Canadian style, light on its feet and easy to drink, but it arrives with noticeably more depth in the glass. A good bridge for anyone moving from mixing whisky toward sipping whisky.
Expect deeper amber colour and a fuller palate of caramel, oak and dried orchard fruit, finishing smooth and faintly sweet. It holds up neat or over a single large cube, which the standard bottling does not really invite. It also makes a distinctly better old fashioned or Manhattan.
