The bottle is shaped like a hip flask, and that single decision explains most of the appeal. Casa Maestri puts its blanco tequila in a flat, pocket-profile glass flask that looks nothing like the rest of the shelf, in a run of finishes that make them fun to collect. Behind the novelty is a straightforward unaged tequila, distilled and bottled clear so the agave arrives without any barrel interference.

Clean and direct on the palate, with cooked agave, white pepper, lime zest and a crisp finish. It is a natural mixing bottle, sharp enough for a margarita or a paloma and pleasant enough to take neat with a salt rim. The kind of purchase that gets picked up as a gift and then quietly kept.
