Cristalino takes an aged tequila and filters the color back out of it, leaving the oak influence behind while the spirit returns to clarity. Casamigos built theirs on the reposado, so what reaches the glass carries its barrel time in a liquid that looks like it never saw wood at all. It is a neat piece of craft, and one of the more convincing examples on the shelf.
Expect vanilla and toasted oak over bright cooked agave, with a soft caramel weight and a clean finish that stays polished rather than sweet. Serve it chilled in a small glass and give it a moment to open. For the drinker who wants aged character without aged heaviness.
