Product Description
Fixin sits at the northern end of the Cote de Nuits, just above Gevrey-Chambertin, and it has long been one of Burgundy's better-value villages. The wines are firm and honest, made from Pinot Noir on the same limestone that carries far more famous names a few miles south.
Expect dark cherry, plum and forest floor, with a savory, slightly rustic structure and tannins that ask for food. Decant it briefly and serve with duck, beef bourguignon, or mushrooms cooked in butter. A serious red Burgundy for people who would rather drink well than collect labels.
