Product Description
Bright lemon, orchard fruit and a clean, chalky finish: Saint-Veran is Chardonnay from southern Burgundy in its most straightforward and likable form. Neighboring Pouilly-Fuisse gets more of the attention, which has kept these wines sensibly priced for decades.
Medium-bodied and dry, it balances ripe apple and citrus against a fresh, mineral backbone, with little or no oak in the way. Serve it chilled with grilled fish, chicken salad, quiche, or soft cheeses. An easy weeknight white Burgundy that still tastes unmistakably like Burgundy.
