Product Description
Kijafa has been made in Denmark for well over a century, produced from cherries rather than grapes and fortified to give it keeping power. It occupies a small and specific niche, somewhere between wine and dessert cordial, and it has the loyal following that comes with being genuinely hard to substitute.
Deep ruby in the glass, with concentrated sour-cherry fruit, almond and a touch of spice over a body that is sweet without turning syrupy. Serve it lightly chilled in a small glass after dinner, pour it over vanilla ice cream, or cook with it in sauces for duck and pork. It keeps well in the fridge once opened.
