Product Description
Guerrero, in the rugged southwest of Mexico, is one of the least travelled corners of the mezcal map, and the agave that grows in its highlands behaves very differently from the plants further south. Clase Azul went there to add a second regional voice to its mezcal work, keeping the production traditional and small in scale while wrapping it in the artisan bottle the brand is known for. Availability is limited by design.
It leans floral and mineral rather than heavily smoked, with cooked agave, citrus blossom, green herbs and a clean, dry, persistent finish. Drink it neat and unchilled in a small cup, ideally alongside the Durango bottling so the difference between the two regions becomes obvious. For the drinker who treats agave the way others treat single malt.
