Product Description
Cliff Lede named his estate blocks after rock songs and his flagship after poetry, and Poetry is the wine the whole property is arranged around. It comes from the Stags Leap District, the narrow Napa sub-appellation famous for Cabernet that combines power with an unusual silkiness of texture.
The 2018 is dense but not heavy: blackcurrant, graphite, violet and dark chocolate wrapped in fine-grained tannin, with real length. It is drinking well now with a long decant and will reward another decade in a cool cellar. Save it for a dry-aged steak and good company.
