Cooper is a barrel-maker by trade, and this bourbon takes its name from that craft. Wood is the whole premise here: the whiskey is filtered through beech and birch charcoal and built around barrel character rather than high proof or a long age statement, which keeps it easy to pour and easier to finish.
It is approachable and mellow, with caramel, toasted oak, a little baking spice and a clean, dry finish that avoids the heat some bourbons lead with. Drink it neat, on the rocks, or in a highball with ginger ale. A sound everyday bourbon at a sensible price.
