Product Description
The name counts hours rather than years, which is a graceful way of saying nothing about this tequila was hurried. It is the anejo in the Corralejo lineup, made from 100% agave at the distillery in Guanajuato and matured in oak until the spirit turns amber and settles. Corralejo has been producing on the same historic estate for a long time, and the consistency of this bottling shows it.
Caramel, vanilla and toasted oak lead, with cooked agave, dried apricot and a light peppery warmth through the finish. Good neat in a small glass, and particularly good in an agave old fashioned with a heavy orange twist. A sensible step up for anyone who has been drinking reposado and is ready for more wood.
