Product Description
Napoleon is a grade, not a marketing flourish. In Cognac it sits above VSOP, requiring the youngest spirit in the blend to have spent significantly longer in oak, and Courvoisier has built a reputation on that tier for generations. The house draws on eaux-de-vie from the best growing areas of the region and blends for a rounded, aromatic style, bottled at 40% alcohol.
Expect dried apricot, orange peel, honey and toasted almond, with vanilla and gentle oak spice and a long, warm finish. It is a brandy for a snifter after a meal, neat, warmed only by your hand, and it does very well beside dark chocolate or a plain almond tart. For anyone who wants Cognac with real age behind it.
