LaSalle was a working distillery in Quebec until it shut its doors, and when a distillery closes its remaining whisky becomes finite by definition. This XR bottling was built around stocks from that site, which is why the blue box carries the name and why the release was never going to be repeated. Extra Rare is Crown Royal most limited tier, and this is the edition collectors talk about.

It is generous and silky, with butterscotch, dried orchard fruit, vanilla and a soft spiced oak finish that stays creamy rather than sharp. Serve it neat in a tulip glass, ideally with nothing else on the table competing. A bottle to open for a genuine occasion, or to leave sealed for someone who collects Canadian whisky.
