Crown Royal was created in 1939 as a gift for a royal tour of Canada, and Monarch marks the seventy-fifth anniversary of that origin story. Commemorative releases live or die on whether the liquid earns the label, and this one was blended deliberately richer and fuller than the standard bottling, presented in a decorated bottle and box built for display. It was made once, for an anniversary that does not come around again.

Look for vanilla, caramel, baked pear and a warm dusting of spice, with a rounded, creamy body and a clean, gently oaked finish. Best neat or over one large cube, in a tumbler, without soda getting in the way. A natural gift for a Crown Royal loyalist or anyone who collects anniversary bottles.
