The Hurricane came out of New Orleans and has been a warm-weather standard ever since. Daily puts it in a freezer pouch, which is arguably the most sensible form the drink has ever taken: no rum to measure, no passion fruit syrup to hunt down, no blender to wash afterwards.
Tropical punch, passion fruit and orange dominate, tart and sweet in roughly equal measure, with a slushy texture once it is frozen through.
