Product Description
DAOU farms high-elevation limestone ground in Paso Robles, land the brothers behind the label bought specifically because it reminded them of Bordeaux. Cabernet is what they built the estate for, and the wine has become one of the most requested Californian reds of the last decade. Demand on the shelf has consistently backed that up.
Expect ripe blackcurrant, dark cherry and mocha over firm but polished tannins, with cedar and vanilla from the oak. Decant it for half an hour and serve it with ribeye, short rib, lamb or an aged hard cheese. A wine for occasions, and for Cabernet drinkers who want power with structure.
