Product Description
Cask finishing has become common in Scotch, but rum casks remain one of the more interesting choices, and Dewar-s leans into it here. Malt and grain whiskies are aged separately, married in the house style, then given a final rest in Caribbean ex-rum barrels.
The effect is exactly what the name promises. Honeyed malt and orchard fruit arrive first, then the rum influence shows as brown sugar, banana and a soft tropical sweetness, finishing smooth and faintly spiced. Fine neat with a splash of water, better over a large cube, and very good in a highball with soda.
