Aging tequila is a balancing act. Too little wood and nothing changes; too much and the agave disappears entirely. Don Chinto keeps its reposado on the restrained side, which is why it stays useful behind a bar rather than being reserved for special sipping.
Expect a soft golden color and a palate of roasted agave, lightly sweet vanilla and gentle baking spice, finishing clean without heat. It mixes well in a Paloma, holds its own in a ranch water with lime and soda, and is smooth enough to drink neat when the mood calls for it.
