Anejo tequila is the category answer to whiskey, and Don Felix aims squarely at drinkers who want that experience without a three-figure price. Time in oak does the work, softening the agave and adding the sweetness a barrel always provides.
Amber gold in the glass, it offers butterscotch, roasted agave, vanilla and a trace of dried orange peel, with a smooth, warming finish and very little bite. Serve it neat at room temperature, in a small glass, after a meal. It also holds up well in an old fashioned built with agave instead of whiskey.
