Product Description
The year on the label is the one Julio Gonzalez began distilling, as a teenager working with borrowed money in Atotonilco. Released six decades later to mark that anniversary, 1942 more or less invented the luxury anejo category, and the tall agave-stalk bottle has been imitated ever since. Aged a minimum of two and a half years in American oak, it remains the reference point every celebration tequila gets measured against.
Rich and dessert-leaning, with warm caramel, vanilla, toasted almond and a mocha note that carries into a long, gentle finish. Serve it neat in a wide-bowled glass at room temperature; ice only flattens it. Reach for it at anniversaries, promotions and the toasts that actually matter.
