Anejo in the Don Q range means blended aged rum, matured in American oak in the Serralles warehouses in Ponce before bottling. The 1.75 liter format is the practical choice for a house that keeps rum in regular rotation rather than saving it for special occasions.
Amber and softly sweet, with caramel, vanilla and dried fruit over a clean cane base, finishing warm and short of sharp. Good over ice with a lime wedge, better in a rum and cola, and entirely presentable neat. A sensible everyday bottle from a distillery with more than 150 years of practice.
