Roasted agave, sharp citrus and a long peppery tail: that is the plata, and there is nowhere for a young tequila to hide. Dos Armadillos leans on fully matured agave and bottles this one without wood, so what you taste is the fruit, the cook and the still. The hand-finished ceramic decanter is the same one used across the range, which makes an inexpensive category feel considerably less so.

Crisp and faintly sweet, with green herb, grapefruit pith and wet stone on a clean finish. Chill it lightly and sip it neat, or let it carry a margarita or paloma where a lesser blanco would need masking. For drinkers who want the agave front and center.
