Product Description
Vintage Port is declared only in years the shippers consider exceptional, which happens perhaps three times a decade. Dow declared 2016, and the wine was bottled young and unfiltered so that the remaining maturation happens in glass rather than in wood. This is a bottle built to be kept.
Dense and structured, with black fruit, violets, licorice and firm tannin under the sweetness. Decant it, and expect sediment. It can be drunk now with a decanting and a rich cheese course, but it rewards patience far more. Store it on its side, somewhere cool and dark, and wait.
