Merlot is the softer sibling in the Bordeaux family, rounder and lower in tannin than Cabernet, which makes it the easier bottle to open on a Tuesday. Dreambird keeps this one approachable and unfussy, built for drinking now rather than waiting on.
Plum, black cherry and a touch of cocoa lead, with a smooth texture and a gentle finish. Serve it lightly cool, around 60 degrees. It goes with roast chicken, pasta in tomato sauce, pizza and mild cheeses, and it holds up on its own if dinner is running late. A dependable house red.
