Product Description
Vosne-Romanee is the most storied village in the Cote de Nuits, and Maison Joseph Drouhin has been interpreting Burgundy from Beaune since 1880. The 2011 is now comfortably into its drinking window, a vintage of moderate weight that has traded early flesh for perfume and detail. Mature village Burgundy from a house of this standing does not linger on shelves.
Expect red cherry and rose petal over the forest-floor notes that only arrive with time, a silken mid-palate, and tannins softened into suggestion. Decant briefly, use a wide glass, and set it beside duck, mushrooms or aged hard cheese. A wine for a table willing to slow down.
