Product Description
Every November, Georges Duboeuf releases the first wine of the French harvest, and for decades that release has been the signal that Beaujolais Nouveau season has arrived. Made from Gamay in the granite hills north of Lyon, it is fermented quickly by carbonic maceration and bottled within weeks, which is what gives the style its unmistakable burst of fresh fruit.
Expect vivid red cherry, raspberry and the banana-and-bubblegum note carbonic fermentation produces, with almost no tannin and a light, juicy body. Serve it cool, around fifty-five degrees. It is famously the wine for a roast turkey table, and the magnum format is made for exactly that kind of crowd.
